The new came out in the medias last week: "the closure of Chamonix Hospital Emergencies is scheduled for September 1st". But officially, the Mayor of Chamonix was not informed of this decision. At the city council, Eric Fournier has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Authorities that has made this choice. For the Mayor, we can not replace a ER service by a "maison médicale", specially because this new "maison médicale" project will be ready only by the end of 2010. Eric Fournier does not stop here and announced that he will fight to ensure continuity of the emergencies service on the valley. A new option may have been found: permanence of the SMUR, a transportation service, or maintenance of Emergency Service... nothing is defined yet! Radio Mont Blanc
