Just 3 months before the event (4-5 February 2012), the Chamonix Club des Sports is already preparing for the Kandahar 2012. However, it now appears that, for the next three years (2013, 2014 & 2015), the Chamonix Valley and the Verte des Houches will NOT be hosting the downhill Ski World Cup. The reasons given are a "lack of hotel capacity", and not enough artificial snow being available. To preserve the Kandahar in the calendar of the International Ski Federation, apparently the local communities will have to invest more money.
