Between Saturday and Sunday, around 60,000 m3 of rock fell from the West Face of the Dru. This time, the line of the "American Direct" was affected. Large water flows were seen in the area, confirming the theory that it's the thawing of the permafrost that is triggering the rock-falls. Even at the end of October, the heat of the end of summer continues to penetrate the rock, even though the surface has refrozen. Note that 12,000 m3 of rock already fell in this area in early September. Thanks to Ludo Ravanel (Facebook)
