For lovers of skiing, freeride and steep slopes the The Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face arrives in Chamonix Mont-Blanc this weekend!
If you want to see the "live" event, just head to the Brevent ski area Saturday 26th January 2013 at 9 am, and then over to the 45° "Hotel Face".
This is where the Pro skiers will cut their "lines" on third stage of the Freeride World Tour. The following day (Sunday 27th Jan) at 10am, watch the juniors do the same.
Chamonix favourites: the snowboarder Aurélien Routens, and the three Chamonix riders: Aurélien Ducroz (double world champion), Leo Slemett and Jonathan Charlet (world snowboard champion).
The FWT village is in Place Balmat at the centre of Chamonix town. A giant screen follows the competition in real-time. Also, there is a stack of entertainment with free concerts, dance shows, contests and workshops; try slack-lining and attend freestyle demos.
Freeride Tricks competition, open to all each day. Registration between 12h and 13h in Place Balmat. Lots of prizes!
A "Night Cinema" on Saturday from 19h30, at the Bicentennial Hall. Many of the top riders in attendance. Admission Free
