Le Tour avalanche, Snowboarder dies in hospital

Tuesday, March 19 2013, in the valley of the Grand'Jeur, off-piste, Swiss sector of Le Tour / Blame. 

An avalanche, triggered by a snowboarder, carries the boarder down the slope and covers him in 1.8m of debris.

The 28 year old, Swedish national was detected and uncovered but found to be in cardiac arrest. He was evacuated to Sion (Switzerland) hospital.

The Cantonal Police of Sion said the victim was caught in a slab avalanche. On Wednesday 20 March, he was pronounced dead by doctors at Sion Hospital.
