Refuge du Goûter opens to the public from Wednesday, 19th of August 2015 at 12pm.
French authorities have announced the reopening of Goûter Refuge, closed since last month due to bad weather conditions in the high mountains and increasing instability on Mont Blanc's Gouter Route.
Following the cooling period from the previous weekend and the last coverings of new snow on the Aiguille du Goûter, the usual weather conditions for the season are back to normal. Therefore, there is no need to maintain the recommendation to postpone the ascent of the Mont-Blanc by the normal route of Saint-Gervais, known as "Goûter Couloir".
Whatever the actual climate conditions are, whether you're a professional climber or you are accompanied by a High Mountain Guide - vigilance is still required!
If weather conditions deteriorate, the authorities will be forced to close once again the Goûter Hut.
