On Sunday 20 March just before noon, a 38 years old paraglider, resident of the Chamonix valley dies in a paragliding accident in a crevice of the Vallée Blanche.
The accident occurred during a landing in the dining room sector. The witnesses of this tragedy alerted the gendarmes of the Chamonix PGHM. The rescue team could only recover the body of the paraglider in a crevice at nearly 2,600 meters.
According to PGHM the paraglider had completed its flight in a serac area and fell into the crevice.
During the week, a skier from Charente-Maritime also died by falling into a crevasse.
