Christophe Ville who was named new sports manager of the Chamonix-Morzine Hockey Club by the CMHC committee in February 2017, will not be coaching the Pioneers next season 2017-2018.
Christophe Ville tried to save the club from relegation but unfortunately it is official, the Pioneers have been relegated from the Saxoprint Magnus League.
On Friday 10th March, after a very complicated season, the Haut-Savoyard club was relegated to Division 1, following a defeat to Strasbourg (5-1).
According to Le Dauphine, Christophe Ville's coaching mission will end on Tuesday 21st March 2017, on the evening of the sixth and final playoff match Chamonix-Morzine Hockey Club against Dijon Hockey Club DHC, at Richard Bozon Ice Rink in Chamonix Mont-Blanc.
The future coach of the Pioneershas not been announced by the management of the Chamonix-Morzine Hockey Club.
According to a statement published on the CMHC website, "We must rebuild to regain the high level! We will have to learn the lessons of this defeat to rebuild and hope to give back to the Haute-Savoyard hockey the place it deserves!"
The new challenge is to spend only one season in Division 1 and to be promoted to the Saxoprint Magnus League for the 2018 -2019 season.
