Friday 8th September 2017, the president of Club Med, Henri Giscard d’Estaing, has announced the closure of Club Med in Chamonix.
According to France 3 Regions, the business in Chamonix will be closing by 2018.
Henri Giscard d’Estaing is apparently already in talks with the mayor of St Gervais to move their offer to the neighboring resort of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains.

The club too small to be profitable
In an interview with the newspaper Le Dauphine Libéré, the president of the group said that "the building is no longer fit for the families"."The structure of the building and the capacity just doesn't make it profitable for the business any more" he added.
The mayor of Chamonix, Eric Fournier, has proposed land all around for the expansion of the club, but these plans weren't adopted.
