A young ski racer (born in Chamonix but with dual nationality), Mathieu Avent (18), is trying to raise funds/help in his quest to get to the Olympics for Great Britain in 2022. He just launched a campaign on the MAKEACHAMP platform to fund his Alpine Skiing goal.
Mathieu Avent - Alpine Skiing Athlete
Mathieu was born in Chamonix on the 8th of January 1999. He is bilingual and has both British and French Nationalities. Actually, he is one of the best British skiers and he has very high hopes for this next winter season.
"My journey of being a high level alpine ski racer has taught me so much about myself, such as my strengths and weaknesses, and how hard I can push myself physically and mentally. I have been to countless international races all around the world, where I learned so much more about my sport" said Mathieu.
"To become a world-class athlete I had to push my limits and develop incredible self-discipline. The thing is, I want more, I know I can do more. I am ready to push my limits even further as I know that I can work my way onto a podium", he added.
Mathieu is currently ranked 3rd 1999 in Britain. His main goals this year are:
- to become British Champion in all disciplines;
- to get selected for the U21 team.
To be able to reach these goals this year, he has to pay €25,000 for a full season. This is why he needs your support. All donations will directly help him fund his fees.
By contributing you will help him reach his goals but you will also take part in his journey of becoming a gold medalist.
