Skier Falls Into Crevasse in the sector of the Séracs du Géant

Wednesday 21st March 2018, at around midday, a man fell about twenty meters into a crevasse, while he was skiing in the sector of the Séracs du Géant, in the Mont Blanc massif (4808,72m), on the route of the Vallée Blanche.

According to Le Dauphine, seriously injured, the skier has been hospitalized in Sallanches but his vital prognosis is not engaged.

The man was rescued by the Chamonix PGHM (Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute-Montagne), dispatched to the scene with a doctor from Mont Blanc hospital by the civil security helicopter Dragon 74.

Yesterday, in the same sector

A speed-rider suffered a fall and required the intervention of the helicopter. Unhurt, he was taken to the Requin Refuge.
