American climber falls to his death at the Aiguille du Peigne

On Saturday, the 3rd of August 2019, the PGHM of Chamonix intervened in the Mont-Blanc massif.

An American climber fell 100 meters, but unfortunately, the PGHM could not do anything for him.

On Saturday, mid-morning, two American climbers were evolving on the Aiguille du Peigne (3192 m or 10472 ft), in the Mont-Blanc massif.

The one who was at the head fell 100 meters (328 ft), causing the rope to break.

Unfortunately, the fall was fatal for the 47-year old man as he was declared dead on the spot by the doctor of the Hospitals of the Pays du Mont-Blanc.

His climbing colleague, aged 49, was rescued by the PGHM of Chamonix and is safe.
