In the Mont Blanc Massif, in the high mountains, more than 80cm of fresh snow have fallen in recent days. Caution is required.
The bad weather of this past week has once again profoundly upset snow conditions in the high mountains since last weekend. Shelter guardians at the massif have seen significant falls. 80 centimeters of fresh snow thus fell to the altitude of the Refuge des Cosmiques Mountain Hut (3613 m) in just four days. The settlement is likely to take time and impatient climbers will have to prepare themselvs more than usual for the season.
Some people have even get their skis for a few turns on Wednesday 14 July. Practitioners are in all cases invited to take all the safety measures and exercise the utmost caution and equip themselves as in winter with a DVA, a shovel and a probe, especially with the abrupt rise of the isotherm 0°C at more than 4000 m, the faces of altitudes and especially the very loaded Tacul, will be very dangerous.
