The Cosmiques Hut is currently closed. It will re-open its doors on 26 February 2022!
The bad weather and the strong gusts of wind announced for this weekend do not allow the guards of the Cosmiques Hut (3613m), Mélanie Marcuzzi and Noé Vérité, to carry out the necessary supply helicopters before the opening.
Wind, heavy precipitation and the rising 0° isotherm. A bad mix for avalanche risk but also for mountain huts. The hut-keepers have decided by mutual agreement to postpone the start of their season for a week. They are thus giving an appointment to the mountaineers on Saturday 26 February, hoping that the weather will be milder next week.
Going up to see their hut, the hut-keepers found that they could not open as initially planned this Saturday 19 February.
"It's blowing, it's winding, we need to find a variation!" “, with humor they wrote on the social networks.
Please take note that the Requin hut (2516m), located lower on the Vallée Blanche route, has already opened to satisfy the stomachs of skiers who explore this mythical off-piste sector from the Aiguille du Midday.
