UTMB: Kilian Jornet tested positive for Covid-19 but asymptomatic

Before the UTMB event, scheduled for Friday 26 August 2022, at 5:00 p.m., the big favorite Kilian Jornet announces on his social networks that he has been tested positive for Covid-19 but is asymptomatic.

In a message published on Wednesday 24 August via his social networks, Kilian Jornet, triple winner of the event, announces that after Sierre-Zinal (which he disputed last Saturday 13 August in Switzerland), he was “tested positive for Covid, but without symptoms”.

The Spanish ultra-trail specialist said he did "antigen tests after being in contact with a positive person" before the Swiss race. Negative tests at time.

As for his participation in the UTMB, of which he is the big favorite, Kilian explains "feeling ready and well prepared for the race, and still without symptoms".

However, he "goes to see with his doctor what is the best decision for (his) health and that of the other runners on the race day".
