This restaurant located in the heart of the town is without doubt pure Chamonix in style. It has been providing typical Savoyard cuisine since it was opened by Grandpa Luc in 1946 and is still run by the same family today.
At the Calèche you will feel at home amongst the antiquities straight from our grandmothers’ kitchens and the minute you cross the threshold you will be plunged back into the Chamonix of yesteryear.
More than just a restaurant, this is a genuine museum where old skis from the last century and a bobsleigh left over from the winter games of 1924, an ancestral stove, a Swiss cuckoo clock and old books about the mountains all recall the Chamonix of a bygone age.
As for the cuisine, this is also a journey deep into Savoyard territory with traditional cheese recipes, meat raised in the mountain pastures, fish from our Alpine lakes and a refined regional cuisine to suit every season.
