The Refuge des Grands Mulets (3,057m) was planning to for the Easter weekend . Unfortunately, due to poor weather conditions, the hut will not open until Thursday, 4 April 2024.
The Grands Mulet Refuge is located on a rocky outcrop beside the historic route up Mont Blanc with way of the Petit and Grand Plateaux. This is the best route for skiers.

Already this season, some people have attempted to climb the summit of Mont Blanc despite poor weather conditions and no access to the Grand Mulets refuge. Good weather windows have allowed for successful ascents.
SKI MONT BLANC ROUTE CONDITIONS
Here are the route conditions for summiting Mont Blanc in late March early April 2024.
They are provided by the Chamoniarde, which is a non-profit association that brings together all those that work in safety and rescue activities on the Mont Blanc Massif. The association provides mountain information and training, to elevate the awareness and safety of people enjoying the high alpine environment.

The lower track to the Jonction is blocked by a huge crevasse estimated at 50m deep. You must follow the upper track that is in good condition at the moment. It is highly recommended to stay roped up during this traverse of the Jonction.
The north ridge of the Gouter is ice not snow. On the Plateaux there is not much to report, apart from a few serac falls, one of which did cross the Plateaux.
On the slope up to the Vallot hut, conditions become more technical, requiring a good crampon technique (and good crampons!): ice and "bullet hard" snow.
The north face has not yet been skied.
