The Montenvers Train remains in the Mont-Blanc Unlimited pass

Mer de Glace & Hotel Montenvers, Chamonix

Holders of the Mont-Blanc Unlimited and Mont-Blanc Multipass passes will be able to travel freely on the Montenvers train this year 2025.

While since October 31, 2024, the Montenvers train is no longer operated by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc (CMB) but by a departmental company, the holders of the Mont-Blanc Unlimited pass, the flagship title offered by the CMB, were waiting to know if, as in previous years, they would be able to use the little cogwheel train without limit.

Rest assured, this will be the case this year for them and those who acquire a Mont-Blanc Multipass. The train authority and the CMB have signed a commercial agreement valid for one year.

In concrete terms, part of the revenue generated by the sale of these passes will be donated to the departmental authority, in exchange for the free passage of those holding these passes.

An extremely positive point for fans of the mythical off-piste of the Vallée Blanche who feared that after taking the Aiguille du Midi cable car and skiing to the new Mer de Glace gondola, they would have to go back to the cash desk and pay for the descent on board the Montenvers train.

However, this agreement is a test only for the year 2025.
