This weekend, on Saturday 14 December, three more altitude ski areas in the Chamonix valley will open.
They are Balme, Le Brevent and Les Houches.
Balme and Le Brevent are expected to open most, if not all, of their lifts and pistes. Les Houches will be a partial opening.
Also this weekend, Le Flegere is expected to expand its perimeter. While at Les Grands Montets, Le Bochard lift will open, providing access to a huge off-piste area.
La Pierre à Ric piste from Lognan down to Argentiere has limited snow cover at the bottom of the run. There is a chance it will open, but that's not certain to happen.
Last weekend, La Flégère and Les Grands Montets kicked off the 2024/25 alpine ski season. They were the first resorts to open in the Chamonix valley and also the first in the whole of the Haute-Savoie.
