The Argentrail 2nd Edition
The Sports Club of Argentière organizes the 2nd edition of Argentrail running race.
The Argentrail is a trail for running that will make you discover the villages of Argentière and Lavancher, the Alpages de la Pendant and then it will take you to Peclerey, with a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc.
This running race is to take place on Sunday 22nd July 2018.
The running trail
25 km 1600 md +/- to perform individual or in a team
The Argentrail is a semi-autonomous running race that takes place in a limited time on a natural and mountainous ground taking the hiking trails of the massif of Lognan, the Pendant and the Peclerey.
This running race is to take place on a route of about 25km and 1,600 meters of positive and negative elevations, with a double loop starting from the center of the village of Argentière.
Team Relay race and young cadets 12km
The organization offers an individual race and a Relay race by team of two riders on the same course.
Participation
The Argentrail is open to women and men of all nationalities, born in 2000 or earlier (categories of the French Athletics Federation) for an individual race but also for men, women and mixed teams for a relay race.
The half Argentrail is a loop of about 12km and 600m of elevation gain. It is open to the category cadet (young people born in 2001 & 2002 with parental consent). Riders must be fully aware of the specificities and constraints of these outdoor events of nature.
The maximum number of riders is set at 500, excluding cadets.
Registration
Registration open from 1st April 2018 at 8am on the website of the timing provider.

Registration will be closed as soon as the maximum number of racers is reached and no later than 21st July 2018.
Runners must:
• Complete the registration form;
• Make the payment of €30 or €50;
• Purchase, if they wish, the cancellation guarantee of €5, which they will no longer be able to subscribe later;
• Download their medical certificate or license.
Registration for the elites runners
Registration is guaranteed and free for elite runners whose ITRA indices are equal to or greater than 700 for men and 600 for women.
The ITRA index taken into account will be that on the date of application for registration.
Prices:
- €30 per individual runner
- €50 per team of two
For the Half Marathon reserved for young cadets and beginners the registration fee is €20.
Registrations will be possible on the day of the handing-over of the bibs at the price of €40 per individual rider and €60 per team of two.
Registration fees include:
- the bib,
- timing and classification,
- access to supplies during the race and at the finish of the race.
Withdrawal of the bibs
The bib can be handed over to the registered racer oly upon presentation of an identity document.
The bibs will be picked up on Saturday 21st July from 3pm to 7pm in Argentière, Parish Hall next to the church.
It will be exceptionally possible on Sunday 22nd July from 6:30am to 7:30am at Parish Hall if there are still available.
The bib is strictly personal. It can not be transferred or exchanged.
In case of infringement, the persons concerned will be disqualified and permanently excluded from the race of Argentrail.
Schedule of the event
Saturday 21st July 2018
3pm - 7pm Municipality of Chamonix in Argentière, parish hall next to the church:
- Withdrawal of the bibs;
- Individual information point.
Sunday 22nd July 2018:
- 6:30am / 7:30am: Withdrawal of the last bibs / if available;
- 7:30am: Entry into the departure area;
- 7:45am: Information point On the starting line - general briefing;
- 8:00am: Start of Argentrail 25 km;
- From 9am: Passages of the first racers in relay and individual to the center of the village;
- 10:30am: Arrival of the first racers;
- 2:30am: Awards ceremony.
