Today was a perfect day to scope out the conditions on the Vallee Blanche, with clear blue skies and sunshine above a sea of cloud which covered the Chamonix valley.
The sky cleared overnight at altitude, after yesterdays light snowfall, and there were a couple of centimetres of super-light fluffy snow glistening in the bright sun.
