Today the key to the epic skiing was altitude, so I ended up at the Grands Montets, which tops out at 3200m.
It snowed lightly all day yesterday, and then all night, with some nice cold snow in town. Then it was foggy to begin the day, and clearing slowly as the day progressed. With 25-30cm of new snow, the conditions were good powder everywhere, and at the mid mountain elevation around the Chamonix valley there was good skiing, but once we got up into the edge of the high mountain, the snow got a bunch deeper.
