Chamonix Climbers try to climb Everest in Spring 2009

It was one day before the predicted that Marc Batard, the 57 years old Chamonix climber, tried to climb the Mount Everest. He left the Advanced Base Camp at 15h in with the objective to summit the highest mountain on Earth. His objectif: a non-stop ascension of Everest (by the north ridge) in less than 24 hours. The weather forecast forced him to say no and return safely to the ABC. The climber, also known as the "sprinter of the mountains", will not reach for the 3rd time the summit of Everest. The climber told that he reached the 7650m, but thanks to frostbite and some issues with his boots, he was obliged to turn around. Normally we won't make any other try this spring. Another climber in Everest is François Marsigny (teacher at the ENSA school), that will climb in company of his wife, Martine. They will try do summit today. They were yesterday at Camp 3 (8300m). If all goes according with the plan they will both show the Winter Olympics Annecy 2018 flag at the summit. Le Dauphiné
