During his visit to La Clusaz last Friday, President Nicolas Sarkozy said that the Mont Blanc should be on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The French government supports the procedure of a classification of the Massif du Mont Blanc. Eric Fournier, Mayor of Chamonix, welcomes the announcement by the President of the Republic, and he wants to make this international recognition of the Mont Blanc to happens quicker.
