An unidentified body was found on Saturday afternoon on the glacier of Mont Blanc du Tacul, in Chamonix Mont Blanc. Lieutenant Emmanuel Vegas of the Chamonix PGHM rescue stated: "We found a lifeless body on the Glacier du Tacul on Saturday late afternoon. The person has not yet been identified." DNA analysis will be conducted and results will be known in a week to 10 days, he said. The body, discovered during a separate helicopter rescue flight, was mummified and therefore not from a recent accident. "Since 1950, 140 people have gone missing in the Mont-Blanc massif," recalled Lt. Vegas.
