The renovation of the Albert Premier refuge will begin this September, 2012. After several years of negotiations, funding has now been found and the renovations are due to start soon. The work will be spread over several years, with a total cost of 2.5 million euros. The town of Chamonix will help fund the work with a contribution of € 250,000.
