Annecy part of the Tour de France 2013

Next year, 2013, Annecy could well be in the limelight as the penultimate stage of the Tour de France. In 2009 it was included as part of a time-trial around Lac d'Annecy. In 2013, it would most likely be a timed ascent to Semnoz the day before the race arrives in Annecy. In 1998, in the middle of the Festina doping affair, the section through Annecy to Aix-les-Bains was cancelled. This 16km section, potentially including the steep "Les Puisots" climb (10%), could serve as a last race before the Tour heads on to Paris. From the top of the climb, you should be able to see the Champs-Élysées! Note, however, that the final decision is not due until late October.
