Sunday 29 January 2017, in the evening, at about 6pm, a fire hit an apartment located above Cinema Vox Chamonix. Fortunately the flames did not spread to the cinema but the water projected by the firefighters flowed into the hall of the building.
According to Le Dauphiné Libéré, since Sunday night the Cinema Vox Chamonix is closed to public until further notice. So, all the Vox Cinema movies sessions are cancelled at the moment.
On Monday 30 January 2017, the Vox complex was visited by experts, craftsmen and a plasterer, who came to measure the extent of the damage produced by the incident. They found out that the hall of the cinema, located under the apartment in question, was impacted by the water used to extinguish the fire.
Serge Cataldo, the manager of Cinema Vox, explained that in the main hall, "It was a tap!", the water poured over the armchairs, on the walls and, of course, on the floor.
As pupils of Zone C start their winter holidays this weekend, the manager Serge Cataldo, hopes to re-open the Cinema" as soon as possible.
