Friday morning 1st December 2017, the town hall of Chamonix Mont-Blanc, decided to remove some parking meters that remained in Chamonix and established limited-time parking zones called "Blue Zones" on some roads.
According to the town hall of Chamonix, this decision was taken to "ensure a better rotation of the vehicles and to guarantee the free access of the drivers within and around Chamonix".
Therefore is no paid parking on the road in Chamonix but a regulated parking.
Limited-time parking zones: maximum 1 hour from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Rue Joseph Vallot: The portion between Rue Mummery and the Allée des Champs du Savoy.
- Allée du recteur Payot: At the parking area of the PGHM, to the right of the Hotel du Mont-Blanc, to the right of the Hotel Richemond, parking and extra parking area facing the Parking Outa.
- Avenue du Savoy: The portion between la Rue Mummery and the Allée Louis Lachenal.
- Chemin du Sapi: Parking on the left bank of the Arve.
- Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi: The portion between le Chemin du Sapi and la Rue du Lyret.
- Promenade Marie Paradis: The portion between l'Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi and la Rue d'Entrèves.
- Rue du Lyret: The portion between la Rue Helbronner and la Rue de la Tour.
Limited-time parking zone: maximum 30 minutes
- Rue du Lyret: The drop-off zone of the E.M.D.I (École de Musique et de Danse Intercommunale).
Affixing a control device in front of the vehicle European standard parking disc/parking disc is mandatory.
Drivers must have a parking disc to park their vehicle downtown Chamonix. You can take the parking disks for free:
- at the town hall of Chamonix;
- at the annexed town hall of Argentière;
- at the police station In front of the train station.
