Due to Musilac Mont Blanc Festival which is to take place on 19th, 20th and 21st April 2018 on the usual hang glider landing field of Bois du Bouchet, it is forbidden to practice the free flight from Monday 2nd until 27th April 2018 included.
According the blog of the Club des Gratte-ciel, during this period it will be possible to land on the field of La Frasse, GPS coordinates: 45°55'38.8"N 6°52'46.8"E.
The field of La Frasse is located south-east of Bois du Bouchet across the main road and the railway. (Is not the usual hang glider landing field of north-east of the paragliding area of Bois du Bouchet).
No parking spaces is present nearby, and for the respect of the local residents, traffic will be prohibited in the villages of Mouilles and Frasse. Only a quick shuttle drop off point, the "Beradis" road is tolerated for the shuttles of professionals in possession of an access badge.
Be careful to respect the permanent zone LFR 30A of the DZ des Bois, which is behind La Frasse. Please find the map below:
The landing on the field of the "Savoy" remains accessible during the festival
The landing on the field of the "Savoy" remains accessible during the festival, according to the closure of the Savoy ski area. However, be careful with the over-frequentancy of this one. This field remains to be used by the professionals tandem pilots of the valley. Be sure to follow the rules.
During the festival, the Brévent ski lifts will be open until the evening of 22nd April 2018, allowing you to take off from Planpraz, the main take-off area of Chamonix.
