Last update on Sunday, the 14th February 2016: The Col des Montets route (D1506) is closed to traffic.
For the 3rd time this year, the D1506 road over the Col des Montets is closed temporary due to avalanche defense activities. The road was closed to traffic from 8pm, 14th Feb 2016.
Access is possible via the railway (and road) tunnel, which is open to traffic. Passage through the tunnel is regulated by an automated barrier ensuring 100m separation between vehicles.
Power to the third rail is cut while road vehicles use the tunnel.
