Col Supérieur du Tour Noir: a skier falls 80 meters

On Sunday 17th June 2018, a young French skier (19) fell on an altitude of 80m at Col Superieur du Tour Noir (3,690m), in the Mont-Blanc massif above the Col des Améthys (3,563m).

According to Le Messager, the accident occurred in the late morning, around 11 a.m. At the time of the incident the young man was accompanied by other skiers.

According to the Chamonix High Mountain Rescue Team (PGHM), he was found unconscious at the foot of the Col Superieur du Tour Noir, under the aiguille du Tour Noir, versant Argentière.

Seriously injured, suffering from head trauma, he was hospitalized in Annecy after being taken in charge by the PGHM and evacuated by the civil security helicopter.

According to Le Dauphine, the young skier is a student of Paris. Unfortunately, after the accident he fell into a coma.
