Monday, 14 December 2015, at the Parking du Grepon, Chamonix Bus presented six new buses that are complaint with the Euro 6 emission standard. The Citaro range, made by Mercedes-Benz contributes significantly to improved air quality. As well as the six Citrus, Chamonix Municipality and the Mont-Blanc Bus company also bought 2 mini-buses to upgrade the Mulets service in Chamonix town.
The new vehicles, which replace the Euro 2 and 3 buses from the Chamonix bus fleet, have already been put into services.
Citaro buses offer a seating capacity of 44 and standing room for 35. A dedicated area for wheelchair users allows further standing room for skiers and boarders.
At the beginning of April 2016, Chamonix Bus expects to receive 6 more new vehicles, thus replacing the whole fleet inside six months. The buses that are due for delivery in April are hybrids, with even lower fuel consumption and emissions.
