Update Monday 27th August 2018:
Following the efficient work carried out these last days by our Brévent team with the subcontracting companies (Pomagalski, Comag, GSM and DCSA), we announce the reopening of the Planpraz gondola.
The Brévent area will therefore be fully open from Monday 27th of August in the morning.
Grands-Montets area
We also take advantage of this press release to inform you that the operations scheduled for this morning on the Grands-Montets area with the Kamov helicopter will be delayed or staggered, therefore the site will open according to the official schedule.
According to the press release issued by Mont-Blanc Natural Resort:
Following daily control at the end of operation, we noticed an anomaly on the pulley of the Planpraz gondola.
After communicating the defects noted to the manufacturer, we made the decision as a safety measure to suspend the operation of the gondola starting this morning, Thursday 23rd August 2018 and until the result of the manufacturer's expertise.
The Planpraz - Brévent cable car remains open as well as the Bergerie Planpraz and Panoramique Brévent restaurants.
The area of Planpraz remains accessible by footpaths from Chamonix and from la Flégère.
We apologize for the inconvenience and make every effort to ensure timely opening.
Best regards
