Ice Hockey: The Pioneers resumed the training

Without an official coach, the Pioneers of Chamonix resumed the training since last week.

While waiting for the new coach, it is the manager Christophe Ville who is the temporary coach of the team. He and the other managers do their utmost so that this absence does not weigh on the hockey players.

Christophe Ville said "We do everything with the physical trainer Antony Stadéroli so that the players are not affected. I think I have some experience to be able to launch the season (I hope a maximum of 2 weeks) and to be able to offer to the future coach a team in good shape and in line with the programming.

According to Radio Mont Blanc, the managers hope to find a coach this week.

The manager said "We are actively looking for a quality coach. We do not want to rush and do anything. We are looking at several serious and motivated candidates".

The first match of the championship is a home match, scheduled on 12th September 2017 at Richard Bozon Ice Rink, in Chamonix. The Pioneers team up against the Dragons of Rouen, one of the big teams of this championship.

The objectives for this coming season

In sporting terms, the Chamoniards expect a tough season.

Supported by the Community of Communes of the Chamonix valley, the club launched an ambitious challenge for the 2017-2018 season: the Poule de Maintien and playoffs, a bonus!

The team is particularly young

Christophe Ville said "I do not know if to reassure the worried people can be done through an interview! Only the matches and results will reassure them. For my part, they have my confidence and I have no fear about them today".

"We built the team with limited financial resources. It is clear that a young player is cheaper than a veteran on the circuit for many years. But youth is not without talent and determination. We will compensate for the lack of experience by an organized spirit and a determination without flaw" added the manager.

The hockey players will have to create a true group cohesion

One word "Sacred Union" behind the team.

Christophe Ville said "We are the last village of Ligue Magnus, with the most prestigious history. We will need the support of the whole valley to manage unforseen events. The public will have to be present even in difficult times.

"We want to achieve the feat of maintaining ourselves and competing with the big cities so that high level hockey continues to live alive in the mountains".
