Train service Chamonix to Montenvers Mer de Glace closed all day.
According to a press release issued by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, as part of the renovation of the Montenvers site, the train service and the Montenvers Mer de Glace site will be closed to the public all day, Tuesday 23rd May 2017. Reopening is scheduled on Wednesday 24th of May, in the morning but the time is not yet specified.

Ice Cave in the Mer de Glace and gondola from Montenvers to the the Ice Cave.
Gondola and Ice Cave will be closed from Monday 8th May until Friday 26th May 2017 included. The reopening is scheduled for the 27th of May in the morning.
The total renovation of the Montenvers site and work, started on 5 September 2016, is progressing as scheduled. The new "Terminal Neige Refuge de Montenvers" of Maisons et Hôtels Sibuet brand will open its doors in June 2017. The Montenvers Restaurant will officially reopen on 15th June.
The Grand Hotel du Montenvers is being renovated in the style of a mountain refuge with a monastic spirit. The objective, of this renovation, is not to create high quality resort, but a unique place where guests will find the charm of years gone by with modern facilities and functionality.
