New owners for Les Planards Park

According to Le Duphine, this year a group of investors from Chamonix has just taken over the leisure park of Les Planards, a business that was owned by the Cachat family. Indeed, the new owners bought the park and the ski area early this summer, for an undisclosed amount.

A team of experienced investors and entrepreneurs

A team of experienced investors and entrepreneurs in the leisure and management field:

  1. Julien Patty, founder of the Deep Nature Spa group, specialized in the design and operation of spas;
  2. Nathalie Gaume, Director of the Deep Nature Spa Group;
  3. Harold Vernon, involved in strategic and financial consulting;
  4. Stéphane Balmat, President of the ski-club.

These four investors were supported by 123 Investment Managers and Lendix (credit to companies), which provided equity financing.

A major investment plan for Les Planards Park

According to Le Duphine, the investors plan an investment project worth a few million euros for about thirty years in order to redevelop and upgrade the site.

"We are going to invest in artificial snow and ski lifts, and change some of the trails," said Julien Patty, in order to make these facilities more compliant with the international event specifications. And we would like to develop a restaurant that welcomes concerts, for example".

The investor, who is also vice-president of the ski-club, also intends to promote the practice of skiing among the youngest, offering a new skiing experience from mid-November 2017.

From 2,000 to 5,000 visitors in the summer, the Planards Park has considerable potential for growth.

For Deep Nature Spa "Les Planards Park does not represent a major strategic interest, but as we seek to develop accommodation solutions in Chamonix, it may be good to be able to provide to our clients animations simultaneously".

With a turnover of €2 million, the site currently employs between 10 and 12 people, and could count up to 20 employees in a few years.

"All our profits will be reinvested," promises the investor Julien Patty.
