PGHM of Chamonix: Six rescues

Wednesday 18 July 2018, the Chamonix High Mountain Rescue Team (PGHM) had six interventions.

According to Le Dauphine, the first intervention was early in the morning, a 37-year-old man got hurt after a couple of rocks fell on his hand, before spending the night at Durier hut. He was hospitalized in Sallanches.

At the same hospital was took a 60-year-old Australian after he suffered a heart attack in the Col de Rochefort.

A 40-year-old Dutch mountaineer was taken care of after he suffered minor injuries in Dome du Gouter.

Later an 18-year-old Norwegian boy was taken to Chamonix hospital after suffering exhaustion at the Goûter shelter.

The same destination for a 23-year-old Irishman after he got injured while he was in the Grands Charmoz sector.

Later that day two Austrians around 33 years were taken by the Rescue Team because they had difficulties in climbing on Aiguille du Diable. They were transported to DZ des Bois.

We advise mountaineers to be properly equipped, and to possess sufficient experience, to avoid being the cause or the victim of an accident.

We recommend: hire a High Mountain Guide.
