The project: Ice Scream, a strong environmental message

The photographer and street artist from Marseille, Philippe Echaroux, realized in Chamonix an innovative artistic project called "Ice Scream".

The project is about a portrait and three photos of "graffiti 2.0" projected on the Mer de Glace glaicer with a strong message on the environment and especially on the global warming.

Street Art 2.0, is an urban art form based on light projection in the heart of nature without damaging it, leaving no trace of the places he occupies.

This new project is described in a short film directed by Arnaud Moro which retraces the artist's adventure in Chamonix.

"I want to talk about glaciers in general, so I do not want to name the one on which I made the projections. They are all melting apart starting from those of the Himalayas. That's why I've been interested in glaciers because it's a global problem," explains Philippe.

In this film, you can see the Gendarme of Chamonix PGHM and mountaineer specializing in dry tooling, Jeff Mercier, intervening as a witness to the retreat of glaciers.

Philippe projected on the heights of the Mer de Glace glacier, the portrait of Jeff Mercier and three "graffiti 2.0" with the environmental messages: Ice Scream, Ecology/Apology and Make President Trump smart again Oh wait..".

The 34-year-old artist wants to propose an "innovative art". He also wants to "bring street art where it never was". For his project topic, "Chamonix is a perfect place for the notoriety of its glaciers and their access," he added.

The project was carried out in one night: between Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th June 2017 with six months of preparation before.

So, it's impossible to see the works of the artist in real, but it is still possible to discover his creations on the social networks.
