Skiing and mountaineering banned at the Glacier Rond

According to a press release of 12th February 2018 issued by Mont-Blanc Natural Resort, due to the replacement of electrical cables by air between the former pylon of the Arrete West and the summit of the Glacier Rond, the practice of skiing and mountaineering is prohibited in this area on Tuesday 13th February 2018.

Subject: Ban on the practice of skiing and mountaineering at the Glacier Rond on 13th February 2018. Use of the DZ du Dard on 13th February 2018.

Article 1: The practice of mountaineering and skiing in the area of the Glacier Rond is prohibited on February 13, 2018, due to work to replace the three electric cables between the former pylon of the Arrete West and the summit of the Round Glacier.

Article 2: The SAF is authorized to use the drop zone known as the Cascade du Dard for the realization of the work, with a Super Puma helicopter, on February 13, 2018.

Article 3: To ensure public safety, it is the responsibility of the company in charge of the work, in agreement with the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, to proceed with the implementation of all appropriate information and security measures, both on the construction site and on the DZ du Dard.
