Hockey Season 2014-15 begins

Saturday, 13 Sept 2014, the Chamonix Chamois start hockey season with opening faceoff day against the Ducs de Dijon. The Chamois enter the season as strong League's contenders. A team not to be missed in the 2014-2015 Magnus League season.

Wednesday, 11 Sept 2014, the official Chamonix Hockey Club team presentation at the Aiguille du Midi, in the presence of Mathieu Dechavanne, CEO of the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc and of another 100 persons.

The Chamonix Chamois have been one of the Magnus League's elite teams for quite a while now, and there’s no reason to believe that will change in the 2014-2015 season.

The Chamois welcome back their head coach Stephane Gros for the sixth season as well as some new rookie players.
Among them Matthew (Matt) Bisonette, a 22 year-old Canadian player who has proven that he possesses a scoring touch in addition to being a solid set-up man.
In the new squad, Mathieu Jestin, defenseman and Henric Andersen, winger, two strong hockey players, promise to be the surprise of the league.

The upcoming season welcomes new challenges, including a loss of several players that helped the Chamois reach the final of the Coupe de la Ligue and the 9th place in the Magnus last season.
Among the losses, Alexandre Audibert, Brenty Patry and Fabien Veydarie, one' attacker and two defensemen, put a stop to their top level hockey player.
The Canadians Kevin Gadoury and Benjamin Rubin decided to leave the Chamois, one for a Lyonnaise team and the other for personal projects.

With their first game of the season looming just a few days away, the men are preparing for their opening game against Ducs de Dijon with confidence.

The Chamois men’s hockey’s first game of the season is against the Ducs de Dijon on 13 Sept 2014 at the Ducs Ice in Dijon at 8:30 p.m.
