Today, Friday 1st September 2017, at 6:30 pm, is to take place the last race, the big one, the UTMB!
UTMB®: around 171 km and 10,000 metres of height gain: 2,300 runners.
Start: from Chamonix. Race time limit: 46:30 hours maximum.
According to Radio Mont Blanc, among those who will start the race at 6:30 pm, there will be Kilian Jornet, triple winner of the event.
The 3 big favorites:
1. Kilian Jornet
The Spanish returns after 5 years of absence. Considered one of the greatest runners in the mountains, Kilian Jornet is sometimes nicknamed "the alien of the trail" due to its exceptional physical abilities.
Kilian Jornet will compete against the two previous winners of the UTMB, Xavier Thevenard winner of the 2013 and 2015 edition and François d'Haene winner of the 2012 and 2014 edition.
2. François D’Haene
The last time he took the start was in 2014, when he signed a new record.
3. Xavier Thévenard
Double winner of the event, Xavier Thévenard is eager to run alongside the Spanish legend Kilian Jornet.
So, there will be a giant battle!
