This year the winner of the UTMB is the French Xavier Thevenard (20h44'16"), this is the third time he wins after the victories from 2013 and 2015.
Xavier was very excited to be the winner and said that "I did not expect to win". He also added that "I have a bit of experience now and I know what I need to do to make it go well."
On the second place was the Romanian Robert Hajnal (21h31"37").
The third was the Spaniard Jordi Gamito (21h57'01").
Unfortunately, Kilian Jornet could not continue his race due to an allergic reaction to a bee sting.
According to Le Dauphine, the Spaniard stopped at 84.8 km, at Bertone refuge (Italy), around 3 a.m. while he was in the top three from the start.
In the women category, the first place was won by the Italian Francesca Canepa (26h03'48").
