Chamonix has a high risk of avalanche.
The Compagnie du Mont-Blanc shows a mixed black and yellow flag which is risk level 3.
This morning, Radio Mont-Blanc announced risk level 4 which is the same black and yellow flag but a much high level of risk.

We strongly recommend everybody to ski on the pistes! A piste might be prepared, but could still be closed. Check the status boards and ski only on the open pistes!
All resorts have electronic status boards with a map display. Check them regularly.
Last weekend, due to a strike at Meteo France, there was no avalanche bulletin for the department of the Haute-Savoie.
Today, both the Chamonix Mairie and Meteo France have issued a retrospective snow and avalanche warning for last weekend, 27-28 February.
