If someone ever thought that Chamonix may not be the coolest place on Earth, here we are to prove once more that there's no place like Cham. The most recent example is the world's first air-to-ground "high five". Awesomeness at its peak!
Australian base jumper Nathan Jones and Sam Hardy fly through the air after jumping from the summit of Le Brévent (2 525m), directly above Chamonix town. This stunt realized in December 2014 is part of an effort to raise awareness of charity Project: Base that aims to raise awareness for a water well project in the Amhara region of Africa. Under the motto “human flights for human rights”, the project raised $5600 so far.
Jones and Hardy fly just metres above boulders and tree tops in Chamonix before Jones smashes through a large hand held up by another member of their team.
This stunt was inspired and dedicated to “absolute legend and good friend’ Alex Duncan, the West Australian base jumper who died in the Swiss Alps earlier 2014.
