Chamonix: Emmanuel Renaut takes over the Auberge du Bois Prin

Emmanuel Renaut will take over one of the jewels of the Chamonix hotel industry, the Auberge du Bois Prin.

The Auberge du Bois Prin is a magnificent 5-star hotel set in a very peaceful location in the Chamonix valley.

Facing Mont-Blanc, the Auberge du Bois Prin welcomes you on the sunny side of Chamonix.

The Auberge du Bois Prin belonged to the Carrier family since 1976, managed by Denis, brother of Pierre (the Albert Premier).

Over the years, the 5-star hotel hosted many celebrities, from Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (politician & president of France), Françoise Sagan (playwriter & novelist), the Swedish Royal couple and the Dalai Lama.

For the past few years, the restaurant, which had previously won a Michelin star, had been closed.

And now, one of the greatest French chefs, Emmanuel Renaut, three Michelin stars, will take over the Auberge du Bois Prin.

Emmanuel Renaut is passionate about the mountains and had had a crush on the location and charm of Bois Prin for a long time.

Especially when he came to ski to Brévent, which is very close to Auberge du Bois Prin.

"I have been in contact with Denis for three-four years", confirms Emmanuel Renaut. "For me, it's a magical place with a postcard view".

With Flocons de Sel (5-star hotel) and Flocons Village in the heart of Megève, chef Emmanuel Renaut is extremely busy and needs to rely on his teams.

"We are more than 50 people. My collaborators will be able to express themselves. I have worthy seconds in whom I trust, who will create a new place", says chef Renaut.

If the restaurant will open at the same time as the hotel this December, the race for the stars is not yet on the restaurant's agenda. "We will do something simpler, more accessible", declares chef Renaut.
