Winter Youth Olympic Games: Third Medal for Chamoniard Ravinel

The third edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games takes place from 9 to 22 January 2020 in Lausanne, Switzerland. 

Lausanne 2020, as it is commonly known, is a major international multi-sport event and cultural festival for teenagers.

The 17-years old Margot Ravinel from Chamonix has already won three medals at the first appearance of ski mountaineering in the Olympic World.

A part of Club des Sports de Chamonix, Margot Ravinel made her debut in ski mountaineering in 2018.

In 2020, she has already won three Olympic medals.

On 10 January 2020, she won the bronze medal in "Ski Mountaineering Women's Individual" and on 13 January she won her second bronze medal in "Ski Mountaineering Women's Sprint".

On 14 January, the third Olympic Medal has arrived. Together with Victoire Berger (Méribel), Bazil Ducouret (Méribel) and Anselme Damevin (Maurienne ski mountaineering), Margot Ravinel won the silver medal in "Ski Mountaineering Mixed NOC Relay".

"It makes me very happy", declared the young woman with a bright smile on her face.

However, one should not forget the long years of hard work, the muscle soreness, the determination, the mental toughness & many other sacrifices that these medals required. "It really is a super intense effort. We're exhausted", says Margot Ravinel.

Moreover, the 17-years old athlete from Chamonix is also an engineering student.
