Chamonix: A Pentecost Monday busy for the PGHM rescuers

On Monday 6 June 2022, the Monday of Pentecost, the rescuers of the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) carried out five rescue operations around the Mont Blanc massif.

A first rescue operation at the Tour Glacier

According to Le Dauphiné, PGHM gendarms first headed for the Tour glacier, to rescue a woman with a leg injury after slipping on a snowfield. She was transported to Sallanches Hospital.

A second rescue operation at the Goûter Hut

The gendarmes also assisted a man with a calf tear at the Goûter refuge. It was dropped off at the Bois helicopter base.

A third rescue operation at the Tête Rousse Glacier

On the Tête Rousse Glacier, a man with an ankle injury, was also transported safely to the base.

Two other rescue operations

In the afternoon, the paramedics of the Chamonix PGHM headed to the south face of the Aiguille du Midi to pick up a climber with back and rib trauma. He was taken to Sallanches Hospital.

In the hospital center of Sallanches, was brought also a man, who has broken his femur on the path that descends from the Albert 1st refuge.
