Game On!!! The Grands Montets eventually opened, with the bottom cable car and chairlift, the Marmottons, Tabe and Roujon chairlifts, and the Pierre-a-ric all the way to the valley! This is a great amount of vertical for early December, and hopefully we can almost double that with possibility of the Bochard opening soon. There were very few people waiting in line this morning, as Courmayeur and Les Houches both had great conditions and running lifts too. It wasn't too busy a day at the GM, but some more people showed up later when the sun came out. We had to wait until 10am for stuff to open, as it was still snowing early on, and it has snowed an incredible amount in a few short days. It was worth the wait, however, as the snow was fantastic, really deep, light powder on top of heavier powder, and it felt bottomless. There were plenty of powder face shots all around, and lap after lap of fresh snow was shredded. The groomers were in great shape, even low down in Argentiere - the staff has done a great job. It is set to be clear tonight and tomorrow, and cold, with rumours of more snow on Monday, and we now have 3 ski areas open every day for powdery good times.
