Over 100,00 people were inconvenienced in Haute-Savoie yesterday due to a short circuit in Cluses. Telephones, mobiles, internet - communication difficulties put a stop to personal and corporate communication, but also took out the services which rely on communication. It wasn't possible to pay by credit card, withdraw money from a cash machine, or call essential services like mountain rescue, etc.
